The UCL Department of Hebrew and Jewish Studies is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Yiddish.

The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the Department’s teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, to contribute to the running of the Department, and to conduct active research leading to academic publications and to broader impact through public engagement. The post-holder will be encouraged to develop their individual research interests on the highest scholarly standards, as well as to lead or participate in collaborative research projects. This position would suit an early career scholar.
The successful candidate will be expected to take up the position on 1 September 2021.
The successful candidate will have proven ability to undertake academic research of high quality, and to teach at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. A PhD or equivalent is essential, as well as a strong publication record and fluency in Yiddish
