Early Modern or Modern European Jewish History
The Department of History at Fordham University is seeking to hire the first holder of the Shvidler Chair in Jewish Studies to broaden our existing offerings in Jewish history and Jewish studies, and to help build Jewish Studies as a field at Fordham University. We are looking for a senior scholar of the early modern and/or modern periods in Europe, with a preference for Eastern Europe. Candidates should have demonstrated prominence as leaders in the interdisciplinary field of Jewish Studies and an ability to establish a public profile for Jewish Studies at Fordham. The position will begin in fall semester 2015, or sooner depending on the candidate’s availability.
